feedback..

So today we had a feedback session to discuss our proposals and to help us figure out the best direction to go in with this projects, as well as to gain some new ideas.

I presented my ideas and got across the thoughts that I was having and having said that the flowers and plants was something that interested my more that abandonment; people agreed that it was an interesting idea. However as I already knew, my idea needed some tweaking to make it stand out and become different from every other photography book or even photograph' to do with nature and flowers and plants, i needed something that would stand out and impact the viewer; make them curious.

some of the things that have been mentioned to me and that I felt were quite interesting were;

  • experimenting with scanning flowers and plants
  • taking the flowers and plants out of context to create something totally different with a new meaning
  • the significance of flowers
  • status - money thing
  • expose with light
  • studio work - creating scenes with them
  • things in the back garden

I am going to look at the work work of Robert Mapplethorpe and Nicky Walsh, as well as looking at Japanese photographs as a starting point.
